Portable Pizza Oven

Here is our new portable pizza oven! The trailer is made from a 1940’s truck bed. We found it on KSL for a screaming deal. I wish we had a before and after picture because it looks completely different than it did.  Fortunately, we saw the potential. It is very unique which makes it an attention getter (you should see people stare at it as I drive by). We had to straighten, bondo, prime, paint and replace a large portion of the trailer.  We took the old rotten bed out and replaced it with coated MDF siding.

The fenders were dented and torn so we had to do a lot of work on those with hammer, bondo, primer and paint. We sprayed on a bed liner and built a “tray” that is welded to the frame of the trailer. If you ask me, the tray and stand are stronger than the trailer. The tray has about 2 inches of sand and a layer of fire brick over that, which is what the oven sits on. And we decided to go with vinyl lettering for advertisement. So, all in all, it looks completely different. I think we should take it to the guy we bought it from and see what he thinks (he’d freak out).

The first event for this oven is going to be the Provo Farmers Market on the 27th of June. We look forward to showing it off.   Feel free to take a look at our website for more information and a schedule of upcoming events. See you there!
